Kangana Ranaut has been making headlines every other day since Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise. She has gone on record to say that Bollywood mafia ruined Sushant’s career and boycotted him. She also said that she would have loved to work with Sushant in a film. But did you know, there was an opportunity when Kangana Ranaut rejected a film opposite Sushant?
Why Kangana Ranaut Rejected the film?
In 2016, filmmaker Homi Adajania had offered Kangana a film opposite Sushant. The reports that year claimed that Kangana was busy with film ‘Ragoon’ also starring Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. And then she had film ‘Simran’ in her kitty. Lack of dates was stated to be the reason behind her rejection.
However, in a recent interview, Kangana said that she rejected it because she was disturbed over the legal battle with Hrithik Roshan. She said in an interview, “I still remember that day when Homi called me to his office. I was about to step out and I was given the legal notice that Hrithik Roshan had sent me about criminal charges. In a dazed state, I went to Homi, and he narrated me a love story and I could not just focus on it because I was so shattered. I told him I would revisit it, but nobody knew my state of mind. After that, for one year, the kind of filth that I faced, the kind of butchering that I faced, I didn’t sign any film that year, but I vaguely remember that story. It was a love story about an urban couple.”
Kangana also said that she now regrets rejecting that film. She said that if she had worked with him, their lives would have been different. Kangana feels that she could have befriended him and helped him in dealing with the nepotism in the industry.
