When Hrithik Roshan Was Denied Entry On Sets Of Mission Kashmir By Security Guards

Hrithik Roshan, who plays a Kashmiri militant in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film 'Mission Kashmir' was denied entry on sets on the first day of shooting.

Hrithik Roshan is one of the most celebrated actors in Hindi cinema. He has proved his mettle by taking on challenging roles in a variety of films like Guzaarish, Lakshya, Koi Mil Gaya, Agneepath and Jodhaa Akbar.

The handsome actor hails from a filmy background and made his acting debut in the year 2000 with Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai. While he has gained recognition internationally and is called ‘The Greek God’, there was a time when people couldn’t identify him despite his charming looks. One such incident happened on the sets of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film Mission Kashmir.

In late 1999, Hrithik visited Srinagar to shoot for Mission Kashmir after wrapping up the shoot of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. Arriving for the first day of the shoot in Srinagar dressed as a Kashmiri militant, the security guards on location refused to allow him on set. The guards thought Hrithik really was Kashmiri because of his fair skin. However, the actor was then allowed to enter when someone from the crew intervened.

Shortly thereafter, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was released which made him an overnight superstar. Post his big debut, he was instantly recognized everywhere.

Today, he is the face of several brands and big-budget films.

Hrithik was last seen in the action film War and will be next seen in two other action-packed films titled Vikram Vedha and Fighter.
