Deepika Padukone and her fame are not just limited to India, the actress had made her impression on a global level owing to her acting skills and hard work. While it’s impossible to achieve success on a global level without enduring countless sacrifices and persistence, it was once during the initial phases of her career that the actress had received backlash from a well-known producer of the industry.
It was then when Ramesh Taurani had produced a movie “Race 2” that Deepika was a part of. It was Deepika’s move of walking out of the film after shooting for six days ticked off producer Taurani to such an extent that he wasn’t able to contain his anger and had called her ‘unprofessional, unethical and unacceptable.
“I have been a part of the Hindi cinema industry for 25 years. I have made several blockbusters. I have worked with famous actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan, and Kareena Kapoor. But I have never faced a situation like this before,” lashed out Taurani.
Deepika had apparently signed the movie at the very initial phase of the production and had decided to step out of the Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Amisha Patel, and Jacqueline starrer movie out of indecisiveness.
Earlier, in October, we had to change our schedule since “Deepika had date problems. This was due to her film with Ayan Mukerji to be produced by Karan Johar. At the time, I had spoken to Karan and worked out a schedule that would help Deepika manage both projects. Now, when everything is in place, she just walks out after six days of the shoot. What can I say? We are left with no choice. Our directors and the other actors are extremely annoyed with her,” he further vented out his frustration.
The troubled producer even thought of taking legal action on the “Piku” actress.
“We haven’t decided whether to take legal action against Deepika. For the time being, we are in the process of finding the right replacement for her,” he said.
While Deepika’s side of the story was completely different, she and her team had blamed the producer for constantly delaying the dates of the shoot.
“Constant delays are the reason Deepika can’t do “Race 2”. When the first delay happened, she adjusted her dates and shot for two days. But then again, she was informed that the dates were being changed. She would have liked to do the film but she couldn’t accommodate the new set of dates. She has conveyed her apologies to Ramesh Taurani. She had liked the script but unfortunately is not being able to juggle her dates any longer” defended Deepika’s team.
