On the personal front, Anushka is married to cricketer Virat Kohli. The duo first met in 2013 during the shoot for a brand endorsement. A spark of love ignited between both and they started dating soon after. The duo had rough patches in their relationship but they made it through and tied the nuptial knot in Dec 2017. Their intimate wedding ceremony became the breaking news of the year and set a trend for the lavish celebrity weddings that followed.
Though most people only know the story of Virat and Anushka post-2013, not many people are aware that the actress had predicted her wedding way back in 2010.

The interesting anecdote dates back to the year 2010 when Anushka was in the headlines for her film ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’. The film was not only a blockbuster at the box office, but the lead actors Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma were creating buzz for their alleged affair. While Ranveer and Anushka were enjoying the success of ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, they were also gearing up to work together in another film titled ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’.
During a media interaction, the two actors were teased by the journalists and were asked about their wedding plans. This is when Anushka cleverly denied reports of her affair with Ranveer by saying, “‘Ranveer, when are you plan to get married to ANOTHER girl?”
To this, Ranveer replied, “I am thinking, about whether I should marry or not! I am yet to make a decision on that.”
Anushka then addressed the reporters and said, “Yes, I have plans to get married. Give me 8 years and don’t ask me about marriage before that.”
Anushka, who was just 22 at that time, was clear about her priorities. She wanted to settle down but only in her late 20s. And that’s exactly what she did. As mentioned by her, Anushka married 7 to 8 years after ‘Band Baaja Baaraat.’ Her ‘prediction’, or rather her ‘plans’ carved out as she thought!
The actress is happily married to Virat Kohli. The duo welcomed their first child, a daughter named Vamika, in January 2021.
Anushka was last seen in the 2018 film ‘Zero’ alongside Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Although she took a break from acting after her marriage to Virat Kohli, she kept working as a producer and delivered some remarkable web series like ‘Pataal Lok’, ‘Bulbbul’ and ‘Mai’. This year, she is making a comeback as an actor with a biographical sports film titled ‘Chakda Xpress’. It is a film on female Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami and will be released on Netflix.
