Vivek Oberoi Opens Up On Rohit Shetty’s Debut Series Indian Police Force

Vivek Oberoi talks about his upcoming web series Indian Police Force directed by Rohit Shetty, says it's loaded with the filmmaker's signature filmmaking style

Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty is set to take up his cop universe to web space. After paying tribute to police in movies like Singham, Simmba and Sooryavanshi Shetty will launch a new web series titled Indian Police Force on Amazon Prime Video. It will be an extended franchise of his cop cinematic films in digital space. Indian Police Force will feature a star cast including Vivek Oberoi, Shilpa Shetty, and Sidharth Malhotra.

Vivek Oberoi who will play a leading role in Indian Police Force spoke to PTI about working with Rohit Shetty. He said, “The larger-than-life Rohit Shetty signature is there but it is still palpably real. He has changed his language of cinema just for OTT. The scale, the passion with which Rohit has made this, he will set a benchmark with the ‘Indian Police Force’. He took four years to get the script right.”

The actor also revealed how he was offered the project and why he accepted it. Oberoi said, “When I met him, he said he is making a show, which he has been writing for four years and he had me in mind. That to me is a big compliment. He had the humility to say, ‘Read it, see if you like it, and give me your feedback. I gave him my feedback and I loved the show, and the character and suggested a few things.”

Rohit Shetty known for his over-the-top action will make his debut in the digital world with Indian Police Force. The project is an eight episodes web series that will stream on Amazon Prime Video. Indian Police Force is a part of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe that includes Singham, Singham 2, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi. Apart from Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, the filmmaker has cast Shilpa Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, and Sidharth Malhotra. This marks Shilpa’s and Rohit’s debut in the OTT world. The web series is expected to release next year.
