Vivek Agnihotri Brutally Bashed As He Accuses Imran Khan Of Illegally Using ‘The Kashmir Files’ Song

Vivek Agnihotri is facing criticism from Indian and Pakistani citizens for his latest tweet.

Indian filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri took to his Twitter handle yesterday in order to expose the “irony of Pakistan”. He pointed out that Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Instagram handle used the song “Hum Dekhenge” in the latest post. He aimed to point out that his film “The Kashmir Files” highlighted the Hindu genocide backed by Pakistan and now a song from the film is being used by Pakistan’s former PM in the moment of chaos.

Vivek Agnihotri shared the clip on Twitter and wrote, “IRONY OF PAKISTAN: See the power of Indic cinema. The official account of @ImranKhanPTI is using the official song of #TheKashmirFiles illegally in his official video on Instagram.”

“Hum Dekhenge” is a poem written by Pakistani poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz. Vivek Agnihotri claims that he bought the rights to the poem in order to use it in his film. Explaining the same, he said, “For the ill informed, this is written by Faiz Ahmad Faiz. We bought the rights from Faiz House. There are many versions. This is our legal copyright version.”

His tweet has attracted trolling and criticism from citizens of both countries. While Pakistani citizens are schooling him that the poem was originally written by a Pakistani poet, the Indian citizens are mocking him with one-liners.

Check out a few tweets:

“You are bloody liar. This poem was composed by Faiz Ahmad Faiz as a medium of protest against General Zia ul Haq. And it has been adopted by more than 8 times since then in popular culture. No one holds copyright of this song and you have certainly not bought what doesn’t exist.”

“U bought Pakistani song ? Why???? Desh Bhakt musicians mar Gaye the ?”

1. The song doesn’t belong to you. You bought the rights to use it, remixed it, so just this particular version belongs to you. 2. Instagram allows songs to be added to videos in reels & stories. This is exactly what Imran Khan did. How is it illegal?

“Kitana bejti karaoge @vivekagnihotri Instagram me once you upload any song it available for all without any permission. Ab koi videshi tumhara tweet dekh ke bol raha hoga kya Gadha admi hai, isko ye bhi nai pata. Vivek excitement me desh ka naam mat kharab kiya karo.”

“I think you file a case against Imran khan in Rawalpindi”

Imran Khan was arrested by the paramilitary Rangers on May 9. His arrest was followed by protests in several parts of Pakistan as thousands of his supporters turned violent, burned down police vehicles, and attacked public property.
