Meanwhile, recently the filmmaker took a dig at the Bollywood ‘Khans’ blaming them for the failure of the Hindi cinema saying, ‘As long as these King, Badshah and Sultan remain in Bollywood, Hindi cinema will continue to sink’.

On Friday, The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri took to his Twitter account recently to blame ‘Kings, Badhshahs, Sultans’ for the downfall of Bollywood. However the Director didn’t take the names of the actors, but indirectly mentioned the ‘Khans’ of the industry and wrote, “As long as Bollywood has Kings, Badshahs, Sultans, it will keep sinking. Make it people’s industry with people’s stories, it will lead the global film industry,”.

Without naming the actors, Vivek Agnihotriclearly pointed out how the ‘Kings, Badshahs, and Sultans’ are the reason that will sink Bollywood. Meanwhile, it is known that Shah Rukh Khan is often referred to as ‘King’ and ‘Badshah’, while Salman Khan did Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Sultan’ in 2016.
The filmmaker’s tweet apparently didn’t go down well among the netizens. The Bollywood superstars Salman and Shah Rukh have a massive fan following, as the fans came into the defense of their favorite actors and slammed the filmmaker for his Tweet. Take a look at the reactions of the netizens-
A user slammed the filmmaker and wrote, “Khud 8 movie flop dene k baad 1 hit dedi usme confidence dekho inka jo King 30 saalon se Raaj kar rha hai unke baare mein gyaan dene laga.. Esa confidence chahiye life mein..”, another user wrote, “Shahrukh Khan is most well-known person of India, all over the world. Go to any country all over the world and mention Shahrukh or Salman Khan, you will receive more respect, I’ve experienced it.”.
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri is known among the audience for his film ‘The Kashmir Files’. The film is based on the killings and exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the valley in the 1990s. Starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar. The film became one of the first Bollywood films to cross the ₹300-crore barrier during the pandemic.
On the work front, filmmaker Vivek is currently working on his film, The Delhi Files. Announcing the project, he had said earlier, “I thank all the people who owned #TheKashmirFiles. For the last 4 yrs, we worked very hard with utmost honesty & sincerity. I may have spammed your TL (timeline) but it’s important to make people aware of the GENOCIDE and injustice that were done to Kashmiri Hindus. It’s time for me to work on a new film.” In a follow-up tweet, he added, “#TheDelhiFiles.”
