Vivek Agnihotri Reacts After Ashoke Pandit Compares Pathaan & Kashmir Files

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit recently tweeted and stated that if trolling Kashmir Files was wrong then trolling Pathaan is also wrong.

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit recently compared Vivek Agnihotri’s film, The Kashmir Files with Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan. Addressing social media trolling, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit stated that if the trolling against The Kashmir Files was wrong then it is wrong for Pathaan as well.

Taking to Twitter filmmaker Ashoke Pandit tweeted, “If abusing & trolling @vivekagnihotri was right & hence the entire industry kept quiet, then automatically trolling & stupid comments against #Pathaan become valid. If attack on #KashmirFiles was wrong, then the same applies to #Pathaan Let’s not be selective with our responses!”

He added, “Our silence at certain moments because it suits an agenda makes our enemies stronger. I stood by all those films like #UdtaPunjab & #Padmaavat which were abused by fundamentalists, but saw no support by the industry. Enemies hv misused this division between different camps.” Reacting to Ashoke Pandit’s tweet, Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri tweeted, “Hmmmmm…”

Boycott Pathaan’s “Besharam Rang” Controversy

For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan has been facing extreme backlash for its song “Besharam Rang”. Apparently, a segment of netizens have claimed that the song features “vulgar visuals”. Many politicians even expressed their discontent over the use of saffron color in Deepika Padukone’s outfits. Many people even demanded a ban on the film.

All About “The Kashmir Files”

Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ was released worldwide on 11th March and took the box office by storm. The small-budget film raked over Rs 330 cr at the box office and garnered unparallel love from the audience. The film depicted the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley in the 1990s. Before this, Vivek directed ‘The Tashkent Files’ based on the mysterious death of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1966.
