Like many other Bollywood celebrities, Dia Mirza also shared her reaction to Uddhav Thackeray’s resignation. She took to her Twitter account and wrote, “Thank you @OfficeofUT. You cared for people and the planet. Conveying my gratitude and respect here. May you have many more opportunities to serve the nation.” she tagged the politician Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aditya Thackeray.
However, soon after her tweet got public, Kashmir Files director, Vivek Agnihotri took a subtle dig at the actress and tweeted, “Which planet? Planet Bollywood?” Joining the director a few Twitter users were also seen trolling the actress for her tweet. A user wrote, “Thank you Uddhav, you are the best CM of Milky way galaxy. Hope you will be soon the CM of Jupiter and Saturn next time.”
Earlier this, the Director was seen congratulating the new CM of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde in a tweet in which he also mentioned and congratulated the Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. Sharing the tweet he wrote, “Congratulations @mieknathshinde Congratulations @Dev_Fadnavis for your dynamic leadership. At least, now we can live without fear. #JaiMaharashtra,”.
However this is not the first time that the director called out an actor for supporting the ex-CM, earlier The Kashmir Files director threw shade at Bollywood actresses Swara Bhasker and Simi Garewal for supporting Uddhav Thackeray. In a tweet shared, Vivek Agnihotri was seen taking a sly dig at Bollywood actors Swara Bhasker and Simi Garewal as he wrote, “Bollywood’s brand ambassadors were appointed for full 5 years. They have job to do,”.
Apart from this he also shared an incident of 2020, in which he claimed that he was intimidated and threatened because he “wrote against the Palghar lynching of Sadhus and against the mismanagement of Covid”. He further added “Uddhav Thackeray had sent Mumbai Police to my house to intimidate and threaten me for tweeting on Palghar Sadhus killings. That day I had taken a pledge. FINALLY….”
Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who has been a vocal supporter of the Bhartiya Janata Party, was recently seen lauding Eknath Shinde after taking a jibe at Uddhav Thackeray. In one of her recent Instagram Story, she wrote, “What an inspiring success story….From driving auto-rickshaw for a living to becoming of the most important and powerful people in the country…congratulations sir”.
Uddhav Thackeray submitted his resignation to state Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari in Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. Thackeray had made the announcement about his resignation minutes after the Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed floor test in the Maharashtra assembly on Thursday. Meanwhile, the political party BJP has now appointed their candidate Eknath Shinde as the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
