Vivek Agnihotri & Kunal Kamra Get In A Fight Before Release Of ‘The Kashmir Files’

Director Vivek Agnihotri and comedian Kunal Kamra have engaged in a fight on Twitter ahead of the release of 'The Kashmir Files'.

Controversial comedian Kunal Kamra has got into a war of words with director Vivek Agnihotri on Twitter. It all began when Vivek took to his Twitter and shared his official statement given to the lawyers during the Bombay High Court hearing on a petition seeking a stop on the release of ‘The Kashmir Files’.

In his statement, Vivek Agnihotri had defended his film and said, “I have presented all POV’s, even that of hardened terrorist & leave it to the audience to decide the ideology they stand for.”

Highlighting this statement of Vivek Agnihotri, comedian Kunal Kamra tweeted, “Thru your POV you’ve presented all Pov’s & audience’s thru their Pov decide’s which of your Pov’s they stand for? Please work on script instead of POV”

Replying to Kunal’s tweet, Vivek wrote, “Dear Kunal Kamra, You also have a camera and thousands of #UrbanNaxals to find you. Why don’t you make a film of your own POV? But pl release my interview which you had recorded, that was absolutely your POV? Scared, comrade? Or Modi Modi Modi Yogi Yogi pays better?”

Twitter users also trolled Kunal for his hateful comment against Vivek Agnihotri and his upcoming film.

A user wrote, “Kamra is doing what he has chosen as profession – part time Comedian and Full time Hindu-bashing! So be it. No point engaging with him.”

Another tweet reads, “The four years invested in this project, including reaching out to 700 first generation victims and recording their video testimonials, shows the quality of the “work” that you did on the script. Anyone mocking The Kashmir Files is mocking our lived reality & justifying genocide.”

Vivek Agnihotri had written in his statement, “In the late 80s and early 90s, there was an organised genocide of Hindus in Kashmir valley. This film is about this genocide of Hindus, specifically about the inhuman and barbarian killings and rapes of innocent Kashmiri Hindus based on radical religious terrorism. Entire culture and diversity was destroyed. I believe there can never be any ‘other side’ of the religious terrorism.”

‘The Kashmir Files’ starring Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty is releasing in theatres on March 11.
