The heartfelt moment of the event was when Amitabh Bachchan, India’s legendary actor showed deep respect by touching the feet of Chiranjeevi’s mother. While, Megastar introduced his mother to Bachchan, who first greeted her with a “Namaste” and then bent down to touch her feet. This beautiful moment left Chiranjeevi in wide smile!
In the video, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna Akkineni can be seen guiding Amitabh Bachchan to his seat near the stage. As they approached, Chiranjeevi introduced his mother and Bachchan’s gesture of respect won the admiration of fans everywhere.
Bachchan also have a speech by paying tribute to the legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), whose memory the awards honour. Speaking directly to the ANR family, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate the late actor’s legacy and praised the family for keeping it alive. Bachchan shared a line from a poem written by his father, “Vasihatnama” (The Last Will), which speaks to the idea of true inheritance – “You can’t become my inheritor just because you are my son. My inheritors would be those who truly carry on my legacy”. He thanked Nagarjuna and his family for preserving ANR’s legacy.
