Vir Das, the popular Indian comedian, actor, and musician, is making history as the first Indian to host the 2024 International Emmy Awards in New York City. After winning the International Emmy for Best Comedy, Das will now take the stage at the 52nd edition of the awards. The actor shared his excitement on Instagram after the announcement, adding another big achievement to his global career.
Taking to His Instagram Vir Das shared the news with his fans and wrote, “Thanks to your support, an Indian Emmy Host 🇮🇳 I can’t wait to host the @iemmys this year! Crazy. Thank you for having me. Tremendously honoured and excited!”.
Reacting to his post actor Hrithik Roshan commented, “Wow. That’s amazing. Very well done”, Anaita Shroff Adajania wrote, “Unstoppable you!”. Apart from them many fans also cheered for the actor, a user wrote, “This is HU-aaaage. And they’ve got the right guy for yeh job.”, another wrote, “This is insaaannnneee!!! Vir Das earned an International Emmy nomination in 2021 in the Comedy category, marking a significant milestone in his career. Just two years later, in 2023, he clinched the prestigious award for his Netflix special Landing, further solidifying his global presence.
Now, in 2024, Das is preparing to host the International Emmy Awards, an honor that makes him the first Indian to do so. The ceremony will be held on November 26 in New York City, adding another major achievement to his already impressive career.
