Vikram Gokhale’s Family Refutes Death Rumors

Vikram Gokhale was recently reported to have passed away at the age of 82, however, his family has refuted his death rumors and said that he is still "alive".

Bollywood veteran actor Vikram Gokhale who appeared in several Marathi and Hindi films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, De Dana Dan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and others was recently reported to have passed away at the age of 82 on 23rd September in Pune due to his prolonged illness. Vikram Gokhale has been admitted to the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune where he was undergoing treatment for the last few days.

However, his wife and daughter have refuted the death rumors and reports about the actor. Vikram Gokhale’s daughter confirmed the news and stated that he is still on life support and is in critical condition.

On the other hand, Vikram Gohale’s wife also refuted his death rumors and told Etimes, “He slipped into coma yesterday afternoon and post that, he has not responded to touch. He is on ventilator. Doctors will decide tomorrow morning what to do, depending on whether he’s improving, sinking or still not responding.”

Many actors from the industry mourned the actor after the death news was spread out on the internet. Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn took to his Twitter account and wrote, “Vikram Gokhale Sir brought a lot of gravitas to the roles he essayed. He always stood tall. I had the good fortune of sharing screen time with him. His passing away is very sad. I pray his soul finds eternal peace. RIP Vikram Sir. Condolences to his family”.


Actor Riteish Deshmukh also took to his Twitter and offered condolences to the late actor’s family, he wrote, “Deeply saddened to learn that Shri #VikramGokhale ji is no more. A giant of an actor- he ruled every format he appeared on, be it stage or the big screen. A huge loss to the entertainment world. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones. Rest in glory Sir.”

Vikram Gokhale entered the film industry at the age of 26 years in the 1971 Amitabh Bachchan starrer movie “Parwana”. He later appeared in several Marathi and Bollywood movies such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Agneepath, De Dana Dan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and others. Vikram Gokhale was last seen in Shilpa Shetty and Abhimanyu Dassani starrer film “Nikamma” which was released this year in June.
