Vidya Malavade’s Interview On Her Role In Web-Series Mismatched

Chak De India Fame Vidya Malavade plays the role of Zeenat in Netflix web-series Mismatched. Watch her interview as she talks about her role and journey in the entertainment industry.

Vidya Malavade is an Indian actress who rose to fame with her role in 2007 film ‘Chak De India’ starring Shahrukh Khan in lead role. Her latest work includes Netflix web-series ‘Mismatched’ and Eros Now web-series ‘Flesh’.

In a recent interview, Vidya said that many actors have got better opportunities in the last two years with the rise of OTT platforms. Talking about her journey in Bollywood, she said, “After the success of Chak De India, I signed a few films. I even shot for some but the economy crashed and all those films were either shelved or delayed. The work that was then offered to me was sub-standard and I wasn’t interested in doing it. If I am not interested in something or if I can’t create magic with whatever I do, then there’s no point of me being in it. I am the happiest when I am on set, on my yoga mat or in a jungle. So, when I was on set and wasn’t happy, I decided not to do such sub-standard work until something good is offered to me.”

She further added, “I then started teaching yoga. But in the last two years, the web-world emerged and gave a second chance to artists like me. Earlier, I used to have one release in for years. But this year is different as four web-series of mine have released within a year. And I am grateful for this.”

Vidya plays the role of Zeenat Karim in Netflix web-series ‘Mismatched’. Talking about the same, she said, “Everyone was already on set when the show was offered to me. So, there was no time left for me to prep for my role. I was very nervous.”
