Vidya Balan Wish To Explore The Dark Character

Vidya Balan had thought doing web shows is a lot of commitment and want to do dark character

Vidya Balan has stepped into digital space with her latest release Jalsa, Shakuntala Devi, and Sherni. However, these movies can’t be counted as her OTT projects as they were meant for a theatrical release. As a result of the global pandemic and lockdown makers of these movies had to make them available on over-the-top platforms. In a recent interview, Vidya Balan opened up about doing OTT shows.

The Mission Mangal star had always thought doing web shows is a lot of commitment. She is impressed with the kind of content being made and published in digital space. Hence, she is waiting for the right opportunity that would excite her to grab the project.

When asked if she would like to do an OTT show, Vidya said: “The only reason I haven’t done a series so far is because I haven’t been offered anything exciting. It’s not because of lack of will. Initially, I was like, ‘oh my god, it’s a lot of time commitment.’ I think with the kind of shows that are being made, I’m waiting for that one opportunity that just blows my mind.”

The Sherni actor also mentioned she would like to explore a character she hasn’t tried before. She said: “Honestly, I just think I want to explore the dark. I’ve done the grey characters, the good, but I am yet to explore the dark side of an individual.”

On the work front, Vidya Balan was last seen in Jalsa with Shefali Shah. She was highly appreciated for her commendable performance. She will be next seen in Neeyat. She also has a film directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta.
