Did you know that Shahrukh Khan was the first choice for popular film Slumdog Millionaire? Well, that’s true! As Shahrukh had hosted game show Kaun Banega Crorepati, makers of Slumdog Millionaire had first approached Shahrukh Khan who rejected the film and the role eventually went to Anil Kapoor. In an interview, Shahrukh revealed the reason why he refused the offer. He said, “I was very keen that the film be made, because I think that it’s a very interesting topic I didn’t do it because the host is a little bit of a cheat, and he was a little mean, and I’d already done the show so I felt if I do it people will feel I do the same thing.” He further added, “It was a great film. After I saw the film, I thought Anil had done a fabulous job and deserves every bit of the success.” Slumdog Millionaire gave much fame to Anil Kapoor globally. The film went to Oscars and Anil Kapoor got roles in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and the TV show 24 after the success of the film.
