Vicky Kaushal Reveals Acting Trick He Learnt From Shah Rukh Khan

Vicky Kaushal spoke of what he has learnt from Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan during his cinematic career

Vicky Kaushal is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Govinda Naam Mera. It is a full masala entertainer starring Vicky in a never seen before character. The actor says the comedy-drama is like a debut to him because it is purely new to him. The actor debuted with the 2015 film Masaan and continued delivering stellar performances. In a recent interview, the Manmarziyaan actor revealed a lesson he took from Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan.

In a conversation with the news agency PTI, Vicky said, “It’s (world) really something very, very new that I have attempted… Eventually, it is about adding the grammar of the director’s vision to your process. That precisely is my process or at least a very integral part of my process. I learned a very interesting thing from Shah Rukh Khan sir. He told me there is always grammar attached to every film and it comes with the director, what vision he has. It is important to understand the grammar that the director is coming with and my job is to fully suspend myself.”

Speaking of Govinda Naam Mera, he said, “For me, this film is like my debut film because this is something I’ve never done before. It’s only been seven years, but still, I have not done anything like this before. It’s a big test, it is like my first film. It might or might not work for me as an actor, and I’m really excited for that… as excited, as I was for Masaan.”

The comedy thriller revolves around a struggling choreographer Govinda Waghmare played by Vicky Kaushal. Govinda Naam Mera is a comic entertainer written and directed by Shashank Khaitan. The film stars Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles. It is bankrolled by Karan Johar under the banners of Dharma Productions. The much-awaited film of Vicky will release on December 16, 2022, on Disney+ Hotstar.

On the work front, Vicky Kaushal will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Sam Bahadur’. He also has Aditya Dhar’s The Immortal Ashwatthama in the pipeline.
