Varun Dhawan Completes 10 Years In Bollywood, Says He Didn’t Sleep Before Debut Film SOTY Release

Varun Dhawan revealed how nervous he was before the release of his first film Student Of The Year

Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year has clocked 10 years today. One of the films cast Varun Dhawan, who is set to howl as a werewolf in Bhediya, took a walk down memory lane. The actor completed 10 years in the industry and recalled the night before his debut film. During the trailer launch of Bhediya Varun revealed how nervous he was before the release of his first film.

Student Of The Year introduced three new faces including Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, and Sidharth Malhotra. Dharma Productions 2012 film was a stage for budding actors. Son of David Dhawan stepped into films starting his acting career with SOTY. Since then he has been ruling the industry delivering movies like Humpty Sharma Ki Dhulhania, Badlapur, Judwaa 2, Coolie No. 1, ABCD 2, and Jug Jugg Jeeyo among others. 

Being the son of a filmmaker the actor was nervous just like any other actor would be for their debut film. During a media interaction Varun Dhawan spoke on completing 10 years in Bollywood. He said, “I didn’t sleep that night. My father (David Dhawan) woke up before anyone else. I did a little prayer in the temple with my mom. My mom used to tell me so many things. There were a lot of butterflies in my stomach. I don’t think too much has changed since then, as I am nervous even now.” 

Karan Johar who directed Student Of The Year celebrates 10 years of the film sharing multiple pictures on his Instagram. He shared old pictures with Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra. The filmmakers also penned a heart whelming note for the trio. He wrote, “Down the years with my students of every year! So proud of their cinema journey! It’s no Raaz(I) that they have mastered the ABCD of their craft and emerged as Shershaahs of goodness and talent! Love you!❤️ #10yearsofsoty.”

Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Bhediya. The movie marks his second collaboration with his Dilwale co-star Kriti Sanon. Helmed by Amar Kaushik, the horror comedy is backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. Bhediya will release in theaters on 25th November in 2D and 3D.
