Vaani Kapoor has been sued for wearing revealing outfit with Ram written on it

In a now-deleted picture, Vaani Kapoor was seen flaunting her assets dressed in a skimpy bra-like top with Ram written over it. A complaint filed against Vaani as she is accused of hurting religious sentiments.

Vaani Kapoor who shared a picture of her dressed in a deep-neck outfit with ‘Ram’ written on it, has been sued by a Mumbai resident. Vaani has been accused of hurting religious sentiments as she sports a skimpy outfit that has the name of the Hindu god printed all over it. Rama Sawant, the complainant filed a complaint against Vaani at the N M Joshi Marg police station and with Mumbai police commissioner on Tuesday. 

Vaani, however, deleted the picture following outrage and it is reported that Vaani was also called to the police station to record her statement. The letter also claimed that her clothing had the word ‘Ram’ printed over it and as a result asked for an FIR to be registered against the actress. Vaani is however yet to make the statement about the same. 

The complaint letter said, “The undersigned is an ardent devotee of ‘Lord Shri Ram’. The undersigned has come across a photograph of Bollywood actress by name Ms Vaani Kapoor on her Instagram, where under, she is found in vulgar cloth in semi-nude position and over her body and more particularly from her shoulder to breast, she is found to be wearing blouse/brassiere made out a cloth-like Ramnami, in as much as the names of Lord Shri Ram has been described containing ‘Shri Ram’ , which denotes to Lord Shri Ram. In view of the facts set out hereinabove, and law enunciated by the Hon’ble Apex Court and so also various high courts of the Country including Hon’ble High Court, Bombay, you are requested to forthwith register an FIR against actress Vaani Kapoor for an offence punishable u/s. 215A of IPC and take further legal action so that she is brought to book/punished in accordance with the law.”
