After 15 days of treatment, Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor has been discharged from the hospital. She tested negative on Saturday but the doctors conducted another test today to make sure that she has completely recovered.

Kanika Kapoor is the first high profile case in India to have contracted Covid-19. She returned from London to Mumbai on March 9 and then traveled to Lucknow and Kanpur. She stayed in a 5-star hotel and attended social gatherings where several VIPs and politicians were also present. After she made the announcement of herself being tested positive for the virus on March 20, she faced severe backlash from people for escaping the mandatory quarantine post her return from abroad. An FIR was also registered against her.
