Amazon Prime is doing it big here in India, as it leaves viewers satisfied every time with its wide range of content to choose from. Recently, the streaming platform announced 41 new titles spanning from wide range of genres to be released within the next two years. “Our mission has been to tell compelling, authentic and rooted stories that not just connect with audiences in India but resonate with audiences across the world,” said Aparna Purohit, head of India Originals at Amazon Prime Video. “As we move forward, we are excited to partner with some of the most prolific creators to bring forth powerful stories across different formats, genres and languages for our customers.”
- FARZI (Shahid Kapoor)
This definitely marks the streaming platform debut of Shahid Kapoor, in Farzi, where he essays the character of a small-town con artist, who works at his grandfather’s printing press, and starts printing money. Soon, he gets dragged into the lurking world of crime, turning his world upside down. It casts South Star Vijay Sethupathi, and Raashi Khanna alongside Amol Palekar and more. The movie is all set to release in November 2022.
2. Dahaad (Sonakshi Sinha)
Ruchika Oberoi, along with the writer of ‘Made in heaven’s co-wrote this thriller ‘Dahaad’ along with Reema Katgi. Set in a small town, the movie revolves around the life of Sonakshi Sinha’s on-screen character, a police officer, who sets on a mission to find a criminal, who shakes her to the core. It stars Vijay Verma and Gulshan Devaiah alongside Sonakshi, all set to release this year.
3. Hush-Hush (Multi-starer)
This one is sure going to be a treat for many, with a wide range of actor’s cast in the series. Juhi Chawla, Ayesha Jhulka, Soha Ali Khan, Karishma Tanna and Shahana Goswami are said to hone the series, which revolves around the lives of 5 women, who’s lives intersect at some point, leading to them revealing some of the biggest darkest secrets for their lives. The release of the series isn’t announced yet!
4. Neeyat (Vidya Balan)
Shakuntala Devi director Anu Menon, has joined hands with Vidya Balan for this with this mysterious thriller genre. Vidya, plays the character of Mira Rao, a detective, who unravels the motives behid the friends and family members of a billionaire, who has been killed. The series is said to be released by the end of 2022.
5. Maja Maa (Madhuri Dixit)
Veteran star Madhuri Dixit Nene stars in this funny, comedy feature about a cringe mother, portrayed by Madhuri, who becomes a hurdle to her son’s marriage plans. ‘Love per square foot’ director Anand Tiwari helms this project.
