From Mela To Laal Singh Chaddha, check out the list of top six flop movies of Aamir Khan.

Aamir Khan is known as Mr Perfectionist of Bollywood. He earned this title after he proved his mettle in acting and filmmaking. Aamir has delivered some path-breaking movies which are remembered as some of the best films ever made in the history of Indian cinema. These include Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par, 3 Idiots, Rang De Basanti and Dangal. However, the box office king too had some dull moments in his career when his films tanked at the box office and even struggled to recover the production cost. Here’s a list of the top six flop movies of Aamir Khan.

List Of Aamir Khan’s Flop Movies:

  1. Baazi

Baazi was the first flop movie of Aamir Khan. The action thriller film was released in 1995, and it features Aamir Khan and Mamta Kulkarni. The film was made with a budget of Rs 32.5 crore and earned only Rs 5.09 crore at the box office.

2. Aatank Hi Aatank

After Baazi, Aamir Khan’s other film titled Aatank Hi Aatank flopped in 1995. It features Aamir, alongside Rajinikanth and Juhi Chawla. It was made with a budget of Rs 2.5 crore and with great difficulty, it managed to cover its cost. This is considered to be one of the worst movies of Aamir Khan.

3. Mela

Mela is a popular film because it always tops the list whenever someone talks about the worst Bollywood movies. The year 2000 release features Aamir Khan, his brother Faisal Khan and Twinkle Khanna. Mela was such a disaster that Twinkle decided to quit acting. It also destroyed the career of Aamir Khan’s brother even before it could shine.

4. Dhobi Ghat

Dhobi Ghat was produced by Aamir Khan and directed by his then-wife Kiran Rao. Aamir also featured in this film but his on-screen presence couldn’t save the film at the box office. It struggled to get the audience to the theatres and managed to cover the cost of its making. This film was released in 2010.

5. Thugs Of Hindostan

After the record-breaking success of Dangal, hopes were too high when Thugs Of Hindostan was about to hit the theatres on Diwali 2018. It is a period action-adventure film and promised to offer something new to the audience instead of the same old Bollywood drama. Made with a budget of Rs 300 cr, it is considered one of the most expensive Bollywood films. Despite having a stellar cast of Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh, the film received negative reviews and eventually tanked at the box office.

6. Laal Singh Chaddha

Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha is the new addition to this list. The hype was strong but the ill-fate of this film was pre-written when the audience started the boycott trend weeks before the film’s release. This film features Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. It was made with a budget of Rs 180 cr and has collected only Rs 48 cr in the first week. The film is about to get removed from the theatres and if the estimates are to be believed, Laal Singh Chaddha might not even cross Rs 75 cr as lifetime earnings at the Indian box office.
