Paatal Lok (Amazon Prime Video, May 2020) – This intriguing and well written suspense filled crime thriller webseries Paatal Lok starring actor Jaideep Ahlawat who is seen essaying the role of a police officer Hathiram Chowdhary who has been given an attempt to murder case of a journalist wherein as Hathiram delves in much deeper, he finds out the connection and involvement of politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen in the workings of the judicial police duties that he has to do. This one was a surprise winner in the digital series segment of 2020.
2. Special Ops (Disney Hotstar, March 2020) – Special Ops was another well written and enthralling gritty crime thriller webseries that premiered on Disney Hotstar which was like an apt fit for the digital medium. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, this Kay Kay Menon led series basically revolved around a group of RAW agents who are trying to find a pattern in the various terrorist attacks. This series received a lot of applauds and rave reviews from both audiences and media critics.

Panchayat (Amazon Prime Video, April 2020) – This series which was a joint collaboration between TVF and Amazon Prime Video was a huge commercial and critically acclaimed hit digital series of 2020 which narrates the story of lead protagonist Abhishek Tripathi essayed by the Bollywood Jitendra Kumar who gets a government job at a village where his only aim is clearing the UPSC exams but till then, he is occupied by the local village folks that live a totally different life where he is also supported by Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav.

Asur (Voot Select, July 2020) – One of the best and amazingly written series that was both the audiences and critics favorite in 2020 is Asur which has an made the series by proper mix of science, fiction and mythology along with showing the viewers of how much these three are inter connected with each other wherein the star cast is totally apt and it felt like Barun, Arshad, Riddhi and Sharib had the perfectly tailor made roles especially made for them which can’t be essayed by anyone else.
