The REAL Reason That Made Akshay Kumar Sign ‘Bachchan Pandey’ Revealed

Bachchan Pandey is surely one of the most anticipated films of Akshay Kumar and now, with the movie awaiting release in a couple of months, new updates about the film are making rounds on the internet.

The Sanjay Nadiadwala film is gearing pace, with its theatrical release on, it is exclusively learned that the Akky and Kriti Sanon starrer “Bachchan Pandey”, Khiladi Akshay had charged a bomb. The actor has apparently charged a whopping 99 crores for the film, which is also learned, is a discounted one. The amount is said to be finalized between the producer of the film Sajid Nadiadwala and Akshay Kumar, while reportedly Kriti charges anywhere around 2 to 4 crores currently for her films. This news of Akshay getting paid an insane amount of fee surfaced on the internet sometime back, but now it is learned that perhaps this could have motivated him to play a grey character in the movie.

For the unversed, Akshay has already played many negative roles in his past movies like that in “Ajnabee” and “Khiladi 420”, are among the most notable ones. Now after several years, Akky is all set to play an anti-hero character, it’ll indeed be worthwhile to witness his comeback and see what magic it does on the silver screen. Despite the huge amount charged by Akshay for doing the film, the actor revealed in an event that there’s another reason that drove him to sign the film. He recalled how he hasn’t played any negative roles for a long time, he readily agreed to do the film.

Akshay believes how it’s actually ‘fun’ portraying negative characters and that he really had fun dominating the hero in the film “Ajnabee” for almost two hours and how it’s only at the climax of the film that the hero gets to overpower the villain.

“Bachchan Pandey” is a remake of the Kannada film “Bachchan Pandey” of 2016 and “Gaddalakonda Ganesh”, a Telugu version in 2019. With respect to remakes, Akshay is also said to be working on a film which is apparently a remake of the hit Tamil movie “Ratchasan” starring Vishnu Vishal.
