Sharing the news, Zoya had shared, “It was a large part of my childhood and teenage years. The characters are iconic and globally loved, which is also why I am a little nervous. I have to make sure the film stokes the nostalgia of a generation that grew up on the comic and yet resonates with the young adults today,” she said.

Archie Comics CEO/Publisher Jon Goldwater said that he believes Zoya will ‘deliver a truly unique and exciting take on Archie and friends through the lens of Indian cinema’. “We know that these characters have global appeal and translating them into other settings and cultures is just the start of what we have planned for future multimedia adaptations,” he added.

For the unversed, this might be the acting debut of Suhana Khan, in a very true sense, as the young actress had already made her acting debut in a short 10-minute film called ‘The Grey Part Of Blue’, directed and written by Theodore Gimeno, in which she played the lead part and the story centred around the life of a young couple dealing with their relationship troubles.

While Suhana had already expressed her desire to act in films, in an interview she had shared, “I don’t think there was anyone moment when I decided. Since I was young, I’d do all these accents and impressions. But my parents only realised I was serious about acting when they saw a performance of mine for the first time. I was playing Miranda in a school performance of The Tempest.”
