There’s no doubt that Taapsee Pannu has come a long way ever since her debut in Bollywood with the 2013 film Chashme Baddoor. The actress has given brilliant performances in movies like Pink, Thappad, Saand Ki Aankh, and many more. However, the 33-year old also has been turned down of several ventures. In her recent interaction, Taapsee Pannu revealed the weird rejections she has faced in the industry.
During her interaction with Filmfare, Taapsee Pannu confessed that she has been called a ‘bad luck charm’. She also recalled when producers thought twice before signing her in their films. Pannu also added that she was once replaced in a movie only because the actor’s wife didn’t want her to be a part.
Furthermore, Taapsee Pannu revealed some weird rejections she has faced in the industry. She said, “I faced some really weird things in the beginning like she isn’t pretty enough. I’ve been replaced because the hero’s wife didn’t want me to be part of the film. I was dubbing for one of my films and I was told that the hero didn’t like my dialogue so I should change it.”
Taapsee then reveals that when she refused to change it, they got a dubbing artiste to do it. The actress also unveils that she has been asked to slash her price. The reason being that the hero’s previous film didn’t do well at the Box Office.
Speaking to Filmfare, Taapsee went on to reveal many odd rejections and experiences she has had in the industry. She recalls that one hero wanted her introduction scene to be changed because he felt it would overpower his introduction.
Taapsee then went on to mention how she has managed to face all these problems. She said that now she chooses to do film that make her feel genuinely happy to go to work. Pannu says that many people have advised her opposite.
Explaining herself Pannu said, “Whenever a girl has tried to do women-driven films there’s a tag that’s attached to her and male stars are then hesitant to take her as their leading lady.”
The actress then concluded by saying that by making certain choices it might get little harder. However, she will enjoy each day so that makes it worth it.
On the work front, Taapsee Panny has Loop Lapeta, Rashmi Rocket, and Shabaash Mithu in her kitty. Apparently, all of these three films are women-driven films and surely Taapsee will make them a success.
