Supreme Court To Hear Rhea Chakraborty’s Plea Regarding Sushant Singh Rajput Case On August 5

The probe is in connection with the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput being carried out by the Bihar Police against his alleged girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty on charges of abetment to suicide. Read below to know more.

A month after the untimely of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, his father K.K Singh filed a case against his alleged girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, on charges of abetment to suicide. The late actor’s father also accused Rhea of theft, wrongful confinement, and cheating.

Rhea Chakraborty moved to Supreme Court on Wednesday, demanding that the plea registered against her by the Bihar Police should be transferred to Mumbai Police as the incident happened in their jurisdiction. The Jalebi actress had told the Supreme Court that she has been wrongly accused in the FIR registered against her in Bihar at the instance of K.K Singh.

The Supreme Court will be hearing actress Rhea Chakraborty’s petition on August 5. A single-judge bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy will hear the case. The government of Maharashtra has also filed a provision in the top court to ensure that no order is issued without prior notice to it. Caveats have already been filed by the Bihar Government and Sushant’s father.

The suicide case of Sushant Singh Rajput recently underwent a dramatic turn after his father K.K. Singh filed an FIR in Patna accusing six people of abetment to suicide, including actress Rhea.

The actress told the apex court on Thursday that she has received multiple threats of death and rape, and that she was in deep trauma due to Sushant’s loss, which has multiplied further due to the relentless media glare the case got.

The Chhichhore actor died of suicide on June 14, 2020, and his dead body was found hanging at his residence in Mumbai. The 34-year old actor was reportedly battling depression for the past couple of months. His untimely demise led to many heated arguments on nepotism, lobbying culture, and powerful gangs existing in the Bollywood industry.
