Suniel Shetty Upset With Casting Changes In Hera Pheri 3 Says ‘Akshay Cannot Be Replaced’

Akshay Kumar stepped down from Hera Pheri 3 and as much as fans are surprised by the update even Shyam aka Suniel Shetty is shocked.

Hera Pheri has been making headlines after reports of Akshay Kumar quitting the film series arouse. Part three of the comic film series will be undoubtedly incomplete without Akshay Kumar. The fun of the trio will be missing if Raju will be replaced while Shyam and Baburao remain the same. Recently, at a media event, Akshay Kumar confirmed that he has backed out from Hera Pheri 3 as he was unhappy with the script.

As much as Hera Peri fans and audience are surprised by the update even Shyam aka Suniel Shetty is shocked. He is currently busy promoting his web series Dharavi Bank. During one of his promotional interviews with Mid-Day, the actor said, “Everything was on track, but I don’t know what happened suddenly [that] Akshay is not a part of it anymore. Once I am [done with] Dharavi promotions, I will sit with Firoz [Nadiadwala, producer] and understand why and how this happened. Akshay, Paresh and I had committed to the movie, and this twist has stunned me.”

Meanwhile, there have been reports that Kartik Aaryan will replace Akshay Kumar in the third much-awaited installment. Earlier Aaryan had substituted Kumar in the popular horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Later, Suniel Shetty informed Bollywood Hungama that the makers are in discussion with Kartik Aryan for a different role, no one can replace Akshay Kumar.  

Suniel was asked about his hopes of getting the original cast back, and he said, “That would be the best thing to happen. There are speculations that Kartik replaced Akshay. See, Akshay cannot be replaced. The makers are in talks with Kartik for a completely different character. So, there’s no argument.”

Shetty agreed Hera Pheri 3 will be incomplete without Akshay Kumar stating, “That void will always be there. What finally happens is something that needs to be seen. I am not aware because I am genuinely busy with Dharavi Bank. I have had no time to sit down and work on all this. After November 19, I’ll sit down and understand and talk to Akki and others and see what happened.”

Talking about Dharavi Bank, Suniel Shetty will play the role of Thalaivan, a powerful, kingpin of India’s largest slum—Dharavi. The thriller series also stars Vivek Oberoi in the lead role. Helmed by Samit Kakkad, the series will stream on MX Player on November 19.
