Amid the nationwide lockdown because of the novel coronavirus outbreak, the theatres have been shut down to combat the spread of the virus. As the theatres are shut down, the release date of many movies has been postponed until the situation kicks back to normal.

The higher authorities have passed down order to keep theatres and cinema halls closed till September which means many Bollywood ventures are being geared up for a Diwali release. Three big Bollywood movies- Sooryavanshi, Coolie No. 1 and Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai were all set in the period between March-May but it didn’t due to the lockdown extension.

Meanwhile, there is a possibility that all these three much-awaited movies of 2020 might lock horns at the Box Office on the occasion of Diwali. With the Bollywood industry already incurring losses because of the lockdown, it will be a major blow for the makers of these films if all the three release in close proximity. While all the three films are crowd pullers, the clash will leave the moviegoers confused and divided.

If the situation gets back to normal and the higher authorities take back their decision to keep the theatres till September, then Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi will be first in the order to release and it is suspected to release in August if the pandemic subsides.

As for Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer Coolie No.1, no release date has been finalized for the same. It was slated to release on May 01, 2020.

Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai was going to release on Eid 2020 but the makers have not announced any change in release dates or any other things.

However, many filmmakers have opted to release their films on digital platforms rather than waiting for things to go back to normal. Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb will also skip its theatrical release and Ayushmann Khurrana and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Gulabo Sitabo will be streamed on Amazon Prime alongside Rajkumar Rao’s Ludo.
