Sona Mohapatra Speaks On YouTube Vs TikTok Controversy

Debate of YouTube vs TikTok is trending on the Internet for the last few days. The clash between the influencers on both the platforms has created a rage among fans as well, such that #BanTikTokInIndia and #TikTokExposed were seen trending. We recently saw how people are bringing out the objectionable content on TikTok that glorified rape, religious unrest, acid attack, domestic violence etc. And therefore, singer Sona Mohapatra has come out to share her views. After a controversial video of TikTok influencer Faisal Siddiqui went viral for all the wrong reasons, Sona wrote on Twitter, “Demeaning women is normalised in our culture.We grew up with stories of SalmanKhan, breaking bottles on his girlfriend’s head in public, yet the country’s biggest star? Needs to stop.” She further revealed that she did not join the Chinese app despite being offered money for the same. She wrote, “So relieved I could never be persuaded to get on to this low life platform & even in Covid19 times where there was a paid branded opportunity, said no. Music labels scout for #TikTok stars to lip sync our songs to get better ‘reach’”.
