He revealed that the original singers for ‘NaaNaa Hyaraanaa’ were Armaan Malik and Jonita Gandhi, but due to certain creative changes, they were replaced by two renowned South Indian singers, Karthik and Shreya Ghoshal. “Initially, Armaan Malik and Jonita Gandhi sang the song, but we later decided to replace them with Karthik and Shreya Ghoshal. Karthik’s voice, when paired with Jonita’s, felt good but when we brought in Shreya Ghoshal, it was like a perfect combination – Karthik’s soulful voice paired with Shreya’s sharp and precise delivery created the right balance for the song,” said Thaman.
This revelation underscores how important it is for the singer’s voices to match the mood and vibe of a song, much like the perfect pairing of actors onscreen. The team wanted to ensure that the voices of Karthik and Shreya Ghoshal complemented each other and captured the emotional essence of the track, enhancing its overall impact.
