Shilpa Shetty has returned to acting with Hungama 2 and the recent release Nikamma. Coming back to acting and Bollywood films she has confirmed signing Rohit Shetty’s action project. The host of the show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ has approached Shilpa Shetty for the Indian Police Force and the actress will make her debut in the director’s cop universe movies. The yoga fitness diva revealed the reason that urged her to sign the new project of director Rohit Shetty.
Shilpa announced that her son Viaan pushed her to say yes to Indian Police Force. She made it clear that she took this project only for her son Viaan. The Dhadkan actress recalled the moment when she told her son about the offer he started jumping up and down. Viaan, who is a huge fan of Rohit Shetty, got extremely excited upon knowing that her mother has been offered a film by his favourite director.
Shilpa told news agency PTI, “I told my son that Rohit Shetty has offered me a role and he jumped and he said, ‘Mumma you have to do it for me’. When I saw the excitement on his face, I was so happy. He is such a big fan of Rohit. I always tell Rohit this is something I did for him (my son).”
She further added, “It first came via someone that Rohit is trying to get in touch with me and wants me to play a part in his project. I thought they were joking. When he spoke to me, I said let me think about it and it was a yes.”
Talking about Indian Police Force, Shilpa Shetty will feature alongside Sidharth Malhotra. The project is an eight episodes web series that will stream on Amazon Prime Video. Indian Police Force is a part of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe that includes Singham and Singham 2, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi. This marks Shilpa’s debut in Ott world. The web series is expected to release next year.
