Year 1993’s blockbuster film ‘Baazigar’ has completed 28 years of its release today. The romantic thriller film directed by Abbas-Mustan stars Shahrukh Khan and Kajol in lead, with Shilpa Shetty and Johny Lever in supporting roles. Baazigar also marked Shilpa Shetty’s debut in Bollywood.
On the occasion of 28 years of Baazigar and her debut, actress Shilpa Shetty took to her Instagram and expressed her happiness and gratitude. She posted a few snippets from her songs from the film and wrote in the caption, “Thank you! THANK YOU! THANKKKK YOU!! For all your love, support, encouragement, concern, prayers, and blessings over the past 28 YEARS! (Still can’t believe it!) Love you all!”
She further wrote, “Congratulations, Team Baazigar What a wonderful journey it has been. Looking forward to the next 28. Heartfelt Gratitude to all my well wishers, fans .. I am cause YOU are”

Made on a budget of ₹20 million, Baazigar was declared a super hit at box office with worldwide accumulation of ₹140 million. It has also become a cult film over years due to its suspense, screenplay, story, music and starcast performances. This film also established Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Shilpa Shetty in the industry. It was also Shahrukh and Kajol’s first film together.
