Shamshera Box Office Collection Day 3: Ranbir Kapoor’s Film Had A Slow Weekend

Check out the first-weekend box office collection of Ranbir Kapoor's film 'Shamshera'.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera seems to be another failure of YRF. Samrat Prithviraj and Jayeshbhai Jordaar bombed at the box office year this year and seems like Shamshera is the next one to join the queue. With Shamshera, Ranbir Kapoor made his comeback to the big screen after four years. The hype was loud and the excitement couldn’t be more. However, the box office numbers tell a different story altogether. The film opened to poor reviews by the critics and as the word is spreading out, Shamshera is failing to get enough footfalls.

Shamshera Box Office Collection Day 3:

Shamshera was released in over 4000 theatres on 22 July. It is the second-widest release of the post-pandemic era. On Day 1, the film earned Rs 10.25 cr, which was lesser than Samrat Prthiviraj which recorded Rs 10.70 cr earning on Day 1. Ranbir Kapoor’s movie earned Rs 20.75 crore for the first two days, while on Sunday, it recorded Rs 10.5-11 crore.

Thus, the overall earning on the first weekend is approx Rs 30 crore. The film has been made with a budget of Rs 150 crore and is said to be one of the most expensive films of Bollywood. It seems difficult for the film to even cover its cost by the box office earnings.

Senior Journalist Bharathi S Pradhan called Shamshera a “Rs 150 Crore master class on how not to make a film”
