Shah Rukh Khan’s Witty Reply On Being Called “Uncle”

In an old video, Pathaan actor Shah Rukh Khan can be seen sharing his feelings when he is called "Uncle".

Shah Rukh Khan is one of those rare stars who managed to stay relevant for several decades. He, who started his career in 1992 became the box office king within a few years and is still ruling the Bollywood industry in 2023. Just recently, SRK gave the biggest hit of his career as his film Pathaan broke several box office records. Though he is amongst the most successful Bollywood actors, he too has faced several ups and downs. There have been times when his films didn’t work and he even stayed away from the big screen for a few years. As he is in his 50s, netizens sometimes even troll him and ask him to “retire”.

We have come across an old interview of Shah Rukh when he was asked how he feels when he is called “Uncle”. Shahrukh, who is known for his witty replies said with a straight face, “I get very serious. I have murdered a lot of people due to this.”

He then added, “Umm, it’s a joke. Fortunately, I have a sense of humor. Either people call me “King Khan” or they call me “Uncle”, I feel the same. It’s a terminology given to me by the films that I work in. This is the work I do. So, whatever I am called in my films or due to my films, and whatever makes people happy and feel entertained, I am ready to do it all. Sometimes I am Veer, sometimes I am Kabir, in some, I am Raj, or Rahul or Don.”

Shah Rukh concluded, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”
