Shah Rukh Khan starrer much anticipated action thriller is set to arrive in cinemas on 25 January. But now we got to know the date of its OTT premiere. The film, which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, will have its OTT premiere on 25 April on Amazon Prime Video.
Pathaan has already received a certification from CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) but the makers had to send the film once again to the CBFC in order to get its approval for its OTT premiere. And during the Delhi High Court proceedings the film’s release date on the OTT platform was revealed.
Delhi High Court has ordered the film’s producer Yash Raj Films to give hindi subtitles, closed captions as well as audio description for the OTT release of the film. The court has asked the producers to make a move in order to provide benefits to those with visual and hearing impairments.
The court was hearing a plea moved by various PwDs, including a law student, lawyers and Executive Director of the National Association for the Deaf. The plea was seeking direction to make captions in the movie accessible for visually and hearing impaired persons.

Currently the OTT release window for films varies from four to eight weeks, and even superhit blockbuster movies also had to follow this agreement. Brahmastra (2022) and Drishyam 2 (2022) which were made available on OTT within eight weeks, had to abide by this agreement despite breaking many box office records and running successfully in theatres. But it seems Amazon Prime Video has made an exception for Pathaan and has allowed them a 12 weeks release window before its OTT premiere.
With Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan marks his return to the big screen after four years. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan also features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead roles.
