In a rare moment of candidness, Shahid Kapoor recalls his emotional struggles and heartbreak during an insightful conversation with journalist Faye D’Souza on her YouTube channel. The actor known for maintaining privacy about his personal life, Shahid opened up about moments of vulnerability that deeply impacted him, including non-stop shedding tears on film set.

When Shahid reflected on past, fans wonder if his heartbreak words likely stemming from his long-term relationship with Kareena Kapoor Khan, left a lasting emotional impact. When the interviewer asked if he has ever cried alone due to career pressures, not in a career point-of-view but Shahid Kapoor recalls saying, he gone through such moment only once. Shahid clarified, “That only happened to me when I went through heartbreak. And sometimes, it happens when you are making movies. So, I have had that.” Shahid shared a light-hearted anecdote about his makeup artist’s reaction “I just finished your makeup! Can you just not?”

The actor also spoke about the expectations placed on men in Indian society. “Indian men especially, have been told from a young age that you have to be the provider, the protector. It can put a lot of pressure on you,” he said. Shahid also talked about the importance of flipping these roles, “Sometimes, you just want to relax and let somebody else protect you. It’s fair to feel vulnerable,” the Haider actor added.

As an actor, Shahid believes vulnerability is a strength. He explained, “Vulnerability is incredibly attractive and human. Aggression doesn’t connect with people the same way.” Shahid encouraged men to embrace this side of themselves noting that it’s okay to express emotions.

On the work front, Shahid Kapoor is undergoing intense preparation for an action thriller with Vishal Bhardwaj. In the film, he will portray a don inspired by Hussain Ustara alongside Triptii Dimri. Additionally, Shahid stars in Deva, an action drama with Pooja Hegde, reportedly slated for release in February 2025.
