Shahid Kapoor Reacts To Changes In Cinema, Suggests Not All Movies Are For Big Screen

While talking about other things on Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee with Karan 7 Shahid Kapoor spoke about the changes in cinema.

Shahid Kapoor is one of the prominent actors in Bollywood right now completing almost 2 decades. He has witnessed good-bad phases and changes that have come in the industry over time. His last movie Jersey too didn’t perform well as it should have. While talking about other things on Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee with Karan 7 Shahid Kapoor spoke about the changes in cinema.

Currently, Bollywood is struggling a lot to win the audience’s hearts. All big tickets movies are getting boycotted for some or the other reason. The global pandemic has also played a major effect on the dry run of Bollywood. With movies being available on digital space people don’t prefer going to theaters and this is affecting box office.

Talking about the same Shahid said cinema has also changed. He said, “The kind of movies that we thought would make it to the big screens; certain stories which are of a certain nature; It might be personal or it might not be for the big screen experience visually; We really need to think if we need to take it to theatres.”

To this Karan agreed that all films are not working and that only a few actors and their movies have clicked at the box office. He said, “This entire year, we have not had a good run barring Kiara, Alia, and Kartik. Everyone else has met with a film that hasn’t met to expectations. Sometimes you do things and they are for a larger reason.”

Shahid indicated that few things are beyond actors and movies. He said, “We can make plans, all we want. Just go out there, do good work, do as many movies as you can, make many choices because life will change, the circumstances will change, the audience’s mood will change, and you never know which one’s going to land and which one is not. Kiara’s timing for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was great. People were in a mood of something light and fun and entertaining and her film came out and people loved it.”

On the work front, Shahid Kapoor has multiple projects in the pipeline. He will be next seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bloody Daddy which will release directly on OTT. He has Raj and DK’s series Farzi co-starring Raashi Khanna and Vijay Sethupathi. He is also roped alongside Kriti Sanon in Dinesh Vijan’s unique love story.
