Shahid Kapoor CONFIRMED to star in the Hindi remake of Nani’s Telugu hit Jersey

Gowtam Tinnanuri who originally helmed Telugu hit Jersey will be seen directing the Hindi remake of Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor.

After Shahid Kapoor hit the box-office jackpot with the humongous success of Kabir Singh, he has now become the favourite of the filmmakers, who are looking to remake their Telugu blockbusters in Bollywood. Shahid has now been roped in to star in the Hindi remake of recent Telugu hit Jersey that features Nani and Shraddha Srinath in key roles.

The film will be helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also directed the original film and will also be produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill and Dil Raju under their banners Sri Venkateswara Creations and Geetha Arts. The film is also reported to hit theatres on August 28, 2020. And as the film will go on floors soon, we are excitedly waiting to know who the female lead in the film will be.

Jersey tells the emotional story of an underdog cricketer who starts his second inning to find a place for himself in the cricket team. The film also stars Sathyaraj, Brahmaji and Ronit Kamra in pivotal roles. And if things go as planned it will be pretty interesting to watch Shahid Kapoor as a cricketer in this movie. What is interesting is that we have also seen Shahid portrayed the character of a cricketer in 2009’s Dil Bole Hadippa!

Recently the Hindi dubbed version of Jersey just made the world television premiere, and fans were super impressed by it. And given its emotional appeal, the film surely has the potential to impress the wider audience.
