Fans and cinema lovers have a lot of amazing things to look forward for in the next two years since the Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan has three big budget films in his pipeline which include Siddharth Anand’s Pathan in which John Abraham will be the villain and Deepika Padukone will be playing the female lead in this YRF Films project, 3 Idiots (2009) fame Rajkumar Hirani’s film in which Saand Ki Aankh (2019) fame Taapsee Pannu will be playing the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and lastly Atlee’s masala entertainer.

One of the most anticipated films of 2021 which has been successful enough in creating a buzz and has been constantly talked about and discussed in the media since its announcement itself is Atlee’s film. It is an official news now that he will be seen doing a double role in the film. Now the latest update of the hour is that it will be a father son duo whose thought process and perception of life will be very different like chalk and cheese which would later create a strain on their relationship with each other, where the father will be a senior R & AW officer who will be on a mission to catch his gangster son where even though the plot and premise of the film is similar to Ramesh Sippy’s 1982 classic cult film Shakti it has nothing in common.

A source closely involved in the film’s development during his recent interview with a leading Indian entertainment tabloid said that, “Unlike those films however, here, the two characters are a generation apart. At the heart of the actioner is the father-son relationship, which is fractured by their polarising worldviews. The father is a senior R&AW agent, who is on a mission to capture his gangster son. Though the premise is similar to that of Ramesh Sippy’s Shakti (1982), the stories have nothing further in common”.

Also it’s amazing news since Shah Rukh also has YRF Film’s masala entertainer film which will be produced and bankrolled by the head honcho Aditya Chopra. An important trade related source of the film told a leading Indian entertainment tabloid, “The first schedule will be a two-month affair that will focus solely on Shah Rukh’s portions, after which the unit will take a New Year’s break. Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, who plays the antagonist, will join the second stint that is slated for January 2021. Like Siddharth’s previous outing War [2019], Pathan will be a slick and stylish revenge drama. Since the film marks Shah Rukh and John’s first on-screen union, Adi and Siddharth have etched out dramatic scenes featuring them. They have roped in action director Parvez Shaikh, who has worked on War, Brahmastra and Bell Bottom, to design high-octane fight sequences between the duo”.
