Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan Helps To Re-open 25 Shut Down Theatres

The SRK film has reportedly crossed the Rs 20 crore-mark on January 23 in advance sales for the first day

Due to Covid-19, many cinema theatres, especially single screens closed their doors permanently as they continue to struggle to survive due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But it seems Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan is not only reviving Bollywood but also reviving single screen theatres.

As per latest reports, Pathan is set to be screened in 25 single screens cinemas that were shut down permanently as they struggled to survive due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

After a strong number of advance bookings, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “‘PATHAAN’ REVIVES SINGLE SCREENS… #Pathaan is all set to revive the theatrical biz, going by the terrific advance bookings… Most importantly, as many as 25 single screens across #India – which were shut – will re-open with #Pathaan this week, given the unprecedented buzz.”

Most of those cinema halls are from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

With only few hours to go, Pathaan’s advance booking is on a rampage. As per latest reports the film has sold over 3.55 lakh seats in only three National Cinema chains. With this, has already beaten the final national chains tickets sales of TOH, PRDP, Bharat, Sultan, Dangal and Brahmastra for the first day.

The SRK film has reportedly crossed the Rs 20 crore-mark on January 23 in advance sales for the first day and might even cross KGF 2’s record of 5.15 lakhs. Online ticketing platform BookMyShow has said that the platform has sold more than 1 million tickets in advance sales.
