Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan Takes A Historic Opening!

As per early estimates, the film has now set a new record for Hindi film by collecting Rs. 54 crores nett on opening day.

After a long wait of four years ‘King Of Bollywood’ Shah Rukh Khan has returned in style with YRF’s spy thriller Pathaan. After breaking every record in advance booking, the film has now taken a historic opening for Hindi film by collecting Rs. 54 crores nett. With this, Pathaan has also broken the record of War (2019) which had grossed Rs. 53.35 crores on opening day.

This is also biggest non holiday opening for Hindi film. The record was previously held by Baahubabali 2: The Conclusion with Rs. 41 crores. This is also the biggest opening day figures of Shah Rukh’s career, overtaking Happy New Year’s Rs. 44 crores.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted that Pathaan earned Rs 54 crore on the opening day in India. His tweet read, “#Pathaan Day 1 India 🇮🇳 opening ₹ 54 Crs Nett..A new All-time record.. Early estimates (sic).”

As per trade portal Box Office India, the number would have been even higher, had the movie released on holiday.

According to the Box Office Worldwide, Pathaan will collect a whopping Rs 175 crore globally on the second day of its release. It wrote, “#Pathaan #Pathan #PathaanDay1 Wed 53-57 cr nett Thu 56-60 cr nett Total 109-117 cr nett Eyes RECORD worldwide 160-175 cr nett in 2 days!”

Released in 2200 screens globally and a record 5600 screens in India, the film has also comfortably crossed Rs. 100 crores gross at worldwide box office. The major contributors at worldwide box offices are USA, where the film has crossed $1 Million by Wednesday afternoon and Australia where the film has crossed $600k.

Written and directed by Siddharth Anand and bankrolled by Yash Raj Films, Pathaan is fourth installment of the YRF’s own spy-verse and also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in pivotal roles.
