Meanwhile, the Taapsee who has always been in awe of sports is back with yet another sports drama. After picking the hockey stick in Soorma, Taapsee is all set to pad up as Mithali Raj, the captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team. The film titled, “Shabaash Mithu” will be a biopic of iconic cricketer Mithali Raj.
Taapsee took on her Instagram to share the first look poster of Shabaash Mithu. Taapsee’s first look is furious yet admirable! Mithali Raj who is amongst the most eminent sports personalities has proved that the gender barrier is just a stereotype. Taapsee looks convincing as Mithali Raj. Donning team India’s blue jersey along with a round hat, Taapsee is all set to essay Mithali Raj on the big screen.
Taapsee shared this first look and wrote, “I have always been asked who’s your favourite male cricketer but you should ask them who their favourite female cricketer is.” The statement that made every cricket lover pause n introspect that do they love the game or the gender playing it. Talking about Mithali Raj, she retired from T20’s in September 2019. But she still leads team India in ODI format. The hearsay has it that she will be a part of the National team till next year’s World Cup.
