Sanjay Dutt has been an incredible part of Bollywood over the four decades working in nearly 140 films. He delivered commendable work in movies namely, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Agneepath, Khal Nayak, Vaastav, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, and more. Sanjay Dutt will next appear in Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera with Ranbir Kapoor.
Playing Khalnayak in many films he will again appear as an antagonist in his upcoming action movie. Sanju baba will act as Daroga Shuddh Singh while Ranbir Kapoor will play a double role of dacoit and a lover boy in Shamshera. He collaborated with the director Karan Malhotra for the second time. The first time they had worked together was for Agneepath and even in that movie, the Rocky star had played the ruthless villain – Kaancha Cheena.
Completing 41 years in the industry he shared what ties him to films and acting. He asserted that films motivate him to do films and is excited to be a part of the industry. He further spoke about working with Ranbir Kapoor and shared his thoughts on Shamshera in a recent interview. Sanjay Dutt is looking forward to this change in the acting graph of Ranbir Kapoor and thinks he can pull off his characters in Shamshera with ease.
He said: “Ranbir is a very clean soul, he is an honest kid and very dedicated, he respects everyone with such genuineness. He comes from a legendary family, his values and emotions are at the peak, and you know these things count a lot in life. He is a brilliant actor, all I tell him is ‘you got to explore’, as the more you explore in this world of cinema, the greater heights you touch. That has been my experience,”
Talking about his upcoming period drama film, Sanjay said: “Shamshera is an amazing film, most commercial film I have come across in recent times, it is made for the masses. This is kind of work I’ve done all my life, but it got somewhere forgotten in Bollywood. I am glad that we have people like Karan (Malhotra) and few more directors who believe in that kind of cinema, who don’t forget or disconnect themselves from places like UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and all those belts. We should not forget that that is our audience, the main audience. So this is exciting for me, and I get happiness working on such films.”
Shamshera is a period drama action adventure film helmed by Karan Malhotra. The movie stars Sanjay Dutt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vani Kapoor. Produced under the banners of Yash Raj Films the film is arriving in theaters on 22nd July 2022.
