Salman Khan Among Other Celebs Mourns The Demise Of Saawan Kumar

Bollywood veteran director Saawan Kumar passes away at 86, on Thursday. Bollywood actors like Salman Khan and Padmini Kolhapure among others mourn the loss.

The veteran Bollywood filmmaker and director Saawan Kumar passed away on Thursday due to prolonged illness. The Bollywood veteran director was renowned for giving some all-time hits like Souten, Saajan Bina Suhagan, and Souten Ki Beti, among many others. While many Bollywood celebrities mourned the loss of the filmmaker including Dabangg actor Salman Khan, and Bollywood veteran actress Padmini Kolhapure among others.

Saawan Kumar Passes Away At 86

The famous Bollywood veteran filmmaker and director Saawan Kumar has left for his final abode. The veteran Director took his last breath in a Mumbai hospital at 4 pm on Thursday, as per the reports it is said that the famous Bollywood director was kept under medical supervision and he had been a critical condition for the past few days.

While mourning the loss of Saawan Kumar many Bollywood celebrities were seen mourning the loss of the late director. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan mourned the loss with a throwback picture with the director, sharing the picture the actor penned a heartfelt note for Saawan Kumar and wrote, “May u rest in peace my dear Sawaan ji. Have always loved n respected u.”

Apart from Salman, the veteran Bollywood actress Padmini Kolhapure who worked with the late director in Saajan Bina Suhagan also mourned the loss. Sharing a picture with the director she wrote, “Zindagi Gham ka sagar bhi hai ..Hans ke uspaar jaana padega ..Saawan Kumar Tak aaj zindagi numa saagar ko paar karke uspaar chaley gaye, Om Shanti”.

Talking to E times, Padmini Kolhapure said, “I would have gone and met him. He had a very important impact on my career.” She added, “Who does that? He treated me like his own daughter. He jokingly told me, ‘Abhi tum mujhe Saawan uncle bulana chhod do, abhi tum badhi hogayi ho aur mein ab bhi jawaan hoon’.”

Saawan Kumar’s ex-wife, Usha Khanna also addressed her former husband’s demise, she told Etimes, “Saawan ji was a very dear friend of mine. I’ve lost him today. What can I say about that.”

The famous Bollywood directorial began his journey in the industry with the 1972 released film ‘Gomti Ke Kinare’, the film featured Meena Kumari and Mumtaz in lead roles. The director was known to have delivered films like ‘Sanam Bewafa’, ‘Souten’ and ‘Sajan Bina Suhagan’.
