Upcoming Bollywood venture titled Adipurush helmed by Om Raut starring Saif Ali Khan and Prabhas has come under the legal scanner. An advocate has filed a legal plea against the director of the film and Saif.
The legal case has been filed in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The hearing of the same will take place on December 23. The case has been filed under section 156 (3).
In the movie, Saif Ali Khan will play a role similar to that of Raavan. Earlier in an interview, the 50-year old had said, “Since Lakshman had cut off the nose of Ravan’s sister Surpnakha, it was justified that Ravan kidnapped Sita”.
This statement didn’t go well with a certain section of society. Later on, Saif even apologized for unknowingly hurting religious sentiments.
The petitioner claims that Saif’s interview is a negative portrayal of ‘faith’ and ‘faith in Sanatan Dharma’. Thus, Saif is in legal trouble for hurting their religious sentiments.
Speaking of Adipurush, the movie also stars Prabhas. The Bahubali actor will allegedly essay the role of Lord Ram in the movie.
The makers of the film haven’t yet decided on the female lead.
Hopefully, the legal action against the film gets settled down and doesn’t get out of hand and create more chaos.
