Adipurush: Saif Ali Khan Apologizes For His Previous Statement On His Character As Raavan

Saif Ali Khan has issued a clarification and apology for his previous statement on his character as Raavan in the upcoming venture Adipurush.

A couple of days back, actor Saif Ali Khan was trending on Twitter. The reason behind the sudden trend was after a section of netizens demanded to remove him from the upcoming venture Adipurush. The film helmed by Om Raut will feature Saif as Raavana.

For the unknown, Adipurush is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. However, the trouble for Saif began when in a recent interview he said that Raavan will be shown as “humane”. Furthermore, he added that they will “justify the abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surapanikha.”

Well, this statement didn’t go well with many people. Now, Saif has issued a clarification and apology for his previous statement.

In the apology, Saif is saying, “I’ve been made aware that one of my statements during an interview, has caused a controversy and hurt people’s sentiments. This was never my intention or meant that way. I would like to sincerely apologise to everybody and withdraw my statement.”

He also added, “Lord Ram has always been the symbol of Righteousness & Heroism for me. Adipurush is about celebrating the victory of good over evil and the entire team is working together to present the epic without any distortions.”

Meanwhile, we hope that Saif’s apology gets accepted by the netizens and the matter doesn’t get out of hand.

Speaking of Adipurush, the film also features Prabhas who will play the role of Lord Ram in the movie. It will be Prabhas’s first venture with Om Raut whereas Saif’s second. The actor-director duo collaborated for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.

The film released earlier this year garnered a lot of praise from the audience and the critics.
