Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is an R Madhavan directorial debut movie based on the life of ISRO engineer Nambi Narayan. The team of the film has now reached the US for a 12-day promotional tour after its premiere at Cannes Film Festival 2022. R Madhavan and Nambi Narayan have met Sunita Williams in the USA, and a picture of the three has been shared online. Earlier, they visited Stafford, Texas and Mayor Cecil Willis declared that June 3 will be celebrated as Nambi Narayanan Day.
Promoting the film at Stafford, the director and the ISRO engineer, on whose life the film is based, met astronaut Sunita Williams and interacted with her. A picture from the meeting went viral on social media. Madhavan donned a simple black t-shirt and jeans look, to meet the renowned astronaut who is dressed up in a blue and yellow salwar suit. While the aerospace scientist Nambi Narayan was seen in a shirt and a pair of trousers. The trio smiled at the cameras as they posed for the picture together.
The 12-day tour in the US will also see Madhavan and Nambi Narayanan traveling to locations like New York, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Arizona, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect unravels the truth behind the spy scandal that changed Nambi Narayanan’s life. The Head of ISRO’s cryogenics division was falsely accused of espionage and arrested in 1994, however, in 1998 all charges against him were dismissed by the Supreme Court.
R Madhavan will essay the role of Nambi Narayanan – a former rocket scientist at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The film also features Phyllis Logan, Vincent Riotta, and Ron Donachie. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya have special appearances in the movie slated to release on July 1.
The directorial debut of actor Maddy has been shot in India, France, Canada, Georgia, and Serbia. Rocketry will be released in multiple languages including Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Before opting for director’s chair R Madhavan has acted in some popular movies like Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, 3 idiots, Tanu Weds Manu, 13 B, and Maara to name a few.
