After playing a comedy role in Housefull 4 is now gearing up for his next release Marjaavaan, where he will be seen playing the role of the main antagonist who is a midget. He in his recent interview admits how he is not at all interested in politics despite being the son of former Maharashtra CM Vilasrao Deshmukh. Talking about why he stayed away from politics Riteish said, “I am my own person and while I respect everyone’s views, my job is to act in films, and that’s what I am doing. I leave politics to my brothers.”

On being asked if he was never attracted to power he revealed how he had seen power all his life so it has never really been attractive to him. He further revealed how he is happy with his profession and also calls it his power. He also spoke about the challenges he faced while filming for the role of a dwarf. He said, “We had to film every shot from five different angles. Besides being on my knees all the time, I had several restrictions. I remember shooting for a sequence that comes right before the intermission in which I am required to stand in the muck. Once the director said cut, I was covered in muck, right from my knees to the thighs. I had to wait in that state for my next shot. In such scenarios, the performance is not the challenge. But, sitting in dirty, wet clothes for three nights becomes difficult and irritating.”

Apart from Marjaavaan, Riteish will also be seen in Baaghi 3 alongside Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor, where he will essay the role of Tiger’s cop brother. Riteish also revealed that he is working on a movie based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj which will go on floors next year.
