After getting diagnosed by cancer in 2018, late Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor breathed his last and left for heavenly abode on 30th April 2020 just a day after cult Bollywood superstar Irrfan Khan passed away on 29th April 2020. Now the latest update is that marking a tribute to the late evergreen star, Rishi’s last film Sharmaji Namkeen releases on 4th September 2021.

According a latest news report on a leading Indian TV news channel website, Rishi’s last film Sharmaji Namkeen would be released on his birth anniversary which is 4th September 2021. Even though the shoot of the film has not been completed yet, the makers are set to release the film as a tribute and homage in fond remembrance of the late Bollywood actor.

Rishi Kapoor breathed his last and passed away even before completing director Honey Trehan’s film Sharmaji Namkeen. But as a mark of respect and love towards the late star, ace Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal stepped in to complete the remaining portions of the film and will be released on Rishi Kapoor’s birthday on 4th September 2021.

In an earlier interview, speaking about the late actor Rishi Kapoor, director Honey Trehan in his interview with a leading digital entertainment portal had told, “He was full of life. Koi negative thought nahi tha. He used to shoot for long hours without any complaints. I remember when we were shooting in Jan, he came to Delhi two days before the shooting date. The very next day, his sister Ritu Jain passed away. We sent him our condolences and told him we can start after a few days. But he instead said, ‘Why should we delay? The show must go on. My Dad taught me this. Okay, tell me the call time for tomorrow’. And believe me, he was there on the set the next day, on the dot at 8.30 am”.

Before the New Year, Neetu Kapoor had posted some special pictures with late husband Rishi Kapoor and captioned them as, “2020 was quite a roller coaster!!! When YOU left I felt like a deer caught in the headlights not knowing where to go … #jjj was cathartic at that time as it gave me something to look forward to !!! Then Covid happened I could have never gone thru so much without my cuties thank you both for holding on #RnR #jugjuggjeeyo”.
